So I went to watch it with a few friends plus an entire group of girls wearing the WARBLERS uniform ( im dead serious!) at the Cathay on 1st september 2011. Being a gleek myself, I had pretty high expectations for this movie. I mean come on, IT'S GLEEEEEE!
The inspirational stories were nice, (none of which i'll talk about otherwise i'll be spoiling the movie) it's very relatable and caters to people of all sizes, ages & genders. If you're one in need of a moral boost, it's the movie to watch, who knows, it might help!
Sadly, I was pretty bored during the movie, even almost falling asleep at one point. Don't get me wrong! The songs were amazing, the cast was amazing, DARREN CRISS & HARRY SHUM JR. WAS ESPECIALLY AMAZING! I didn't enjoy as much as i would have expected to.
here are my reasons:
1) BORING AUDIENCE. other than the warbler girls screaming, the rest of us were pretty quiet. After all, it was a cinema, not a concert hall.
2) You'll never get the same atmosphere as those LUCKY people who got to watch Glee LIVE. just watching it on the big screen is nothing special. in fact, i suggest that ya'll wait for the DVD, organize a glee party and SCREAM your lungs out with your friends, something you can't do in a cinema.
3) Being a gleek, i'm pretty familiar with all the songs so hearing em' again just dosen't excite me.
i'd rate the movie 3.5/5
1 for the songs,
1 for the cast,
1.5 for darren criss & harry shum jr. ;)
you should catch it if you're not much of a fan/ unfamiliar with glee. their voices were amazing. they aren't lip syncing for the concert so you can really see their talents!
Extra: They didn't show this part in the movie (MAD UPSET ABOUT THAT). It's so cute just seeing how Kurt was so defensive of his man ;) watch it to know what i mean.
